AZK9 is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization serving Arizona’s underserved communities with the tri-fold approach of education, sterilization & rescue.

This group of dedicated volunteers founded by people wanting to make a difference in the lives of companion animals in Maricopa County. For the dogs in our care, our mission has remained to give a second chance to those who have been abused, abandoned, and forgotten. Our focus has remained to help those who were considered less adoptable, hard to place, overlooked, and truly in need of a second chance in life. We believe every life is a life worth saving and that no animal is a lost cause. Each animal we take into our care is a deserving life needing love and companionship of a family. We work hard with each and every dog providing thorough medical care, training, and socializing to get each dog ready for a loving and devoted home.

The winners of the photo contest will be determined by the top 13 entrants that get the most votes. The top winner will win the coveted cover photo for the 2026 calendar! 2nd - 13th place winners will have their pet featured as a pet of the month. The top 13 vote getters will have their pet professionally photographed by Pup + Me Photo for the 2026 calendar. All winners will have the opportunity to upgrade to a standard session and/or purchase products following their session if desired.
Additionally, one pet each week who receives the highest number of new votes for a particular week will win a mini-contest prize from one of the participating weekly mini-contest prize-sponsoring businesses.
All proceeds from contest entries and votes along with subsequent calendar sales directly support AZK9 Rescue. Funds will help with their rescue program, spay and neuter clinics, community education and their forever foster program.
Definitely, but there is a limit of one pet per photo entry. People are not allowed in photos, only your pet. Photos that do not follow these rules will be removed and will not be eligible to win with no opportunity for a refund.
Complimentary calendar contest sessions will be held on pre-determined dates from March to May 2025 at select locations throughout the Phoenix area. Exact details will be provided to winners upon completion of the calendar contest.
Honor your pet or celebrate a gotcha-day or birthday by reserving an empty grid space (before or after the numbered squares) for their photo. Choose a favorite photo, a month, and pay. Each month has a limited number of squares in each grid and will be filled on a first come, first served basis.
Yes!
We put it in the rules that no professional photos may be submitted because most professional photographers have it in their contract that you can't enter their photos in contests.
